My, turn to throw 2 pennies into the crowd:
Auston, I completely agree with you about the pacing of the movie... I hated the end for the fact that nothing happened in a huge amout of time was wasted on that nothing happening. grrr..
As for the whole extended edition:
Fucking why? Yes I enjoyed my preview of the exended edition version of RotK... but it was billed as a movie. a complete movie... a award winning movie... Sorry to disapoint but what you are seeing in 11 months or so is not what you saw this past week. You are going to see the real movie. I personally have only seen the extended version of two towers, but from the differences between the theatrical release and the DVD release made a new movie. this new movie which will, in all likelyhood, be a better movie will not be up for the awards that you all hope it wins.
I'd like to write more but i have to leave work now... but really if you're waiting for the extended edition look for the differences between the two movies and realize what was chopped together and called a movie.
